I’m a horror movies, and books, fan for like forever. I’ve liked them even when I was small kid. I was scared like hell, but I’ve still wanted to watch them as they’ve had this special magnetism. Then I’ve started to read books and of course fell in love with Stephen King’s writing. This guy could write manual to VCR and I would still read that. After some time I’ve become immune to the fear presented in picture or by letters in the book.
The last few years were really bad for horror movies. There was almost nothing good. As I love the genre I’m always trying to catch every piece of good film I’m able to find. So I’ve watched Sinisterrecently and must say it was quite alright. I believe my judgement is blurred by lack of any alternative. The latest horror I’ve seen was the one with Mr. Potterand I really want to forget about this waste of time.
I was really excited when ABC launched Happy Town. I thought that at last there would be horror TV series to follow. I’ve watched first episode and it was not bad. It had mystery, some suspense, town was like from Stephen King’s books, mysterious lady was hot. What else do you need from decent horror? And then in second episode it started to collapse. Focus was set to dilemmas of main characters more than to mystery and thrill.
I’ve watched this moviethe other night and must say I’m impressed. Long time haven’t seen picture which would keep my nerves tight all the time. There are no famous actors in it, so it wouldn’t be blockbuster. But it’s really worth seeing if you like such movies. By such I mean slashers, but with a decent story which lets you think and get deeper into movie. This was the case with Saw, as for me, but the first one, as next parts where rather getting down.
