Awesome!

Have you ever seen first digital camera? Here it is: It was developed by Kodak engineer Steve Sasson in December 1975. It was capable of making black/white photos, had 0.01 Megapixel and taking picture took him about 23 seconds. Oh, and it stored your photos on simple magnetic tape, like for Walkman. And now you have a lot better device in your pocket size cell phone, nice.

I’m using Debian Linux as a second operating system. Previously I was using it only for my servers, but now I’ve decided to start doing some software development on it. As I love bash environment, the choice of text editor was pretty obvious, Vim, the greatest editor ever made. But problem was that I like my syntax to be colored, it’s easier to write program code then. No problem, I thought, quick searching via Google gave me the “:syntax on” command which should enable what I’ve wanted.

I’ve found set of old Budweiser advertising posters and among them was this one: If you don’t know who was Kosciusko ask WikipediaWell, it’s a little shame that Polish hero was used for advertising such beer as Bud. I’m talking about American Budweiser which is not drinkable, not Czech one which is very good. America has definitively got good beers, but Bud is not one of them.

Another movie added to my to-watch list. Looks like story is pretty stupid and naive, but it would be smashing with special effects and action. And Quaid is playing there, one of my favorite actors. Although scene with ice cream man is one the dumbest I’ve ever seen. Fortunately rest of “monsters” look good, so I’ll definitively give it a try. Oh, and grandma is awesome!

For about a month I was receiving notification that there is service pack 2 available for my Office 2007 package via Windows Update. So I’ve chosen to install it, but it always returned error when installing. Today I’ve decided that it’s about time to update my Office, so I’ve navigated to MS site and downloaded update manually. Started installation and boom, error again! But then something came to my mind, “wait a minute, I have English version of Vista, but Polish version of Office!

Good news to all people for whom being private in Internet counts. Some Netherlands based company started to provide free, that’s right completely free, VPN service. It’s enough to register and you can enjoy 128-bit encryption over your Internet connection which would gain you some privacy. You don’t have to install any software, just configure VPN connection in your system. Of course as it’s new and it’s free be careful, because all your Internet traffic would go through their servers first.

Tron Legacy TeaserLooks like there would be another movie which I want to watch. Again I wouldn’t rate it basing on trailer, but must say it’s impressive. Hopefully the story would be good as it was in original TRON. Will see.
